Media Server Rentals
Through my partners at Production Triangle and Studio Dave Tennent, we casually rent custom media servers for TouchDesigner and MadMapper projects. Typically, they're used for interactive installations or straightforward media playback for displays and projectors. We've utilized them for museums, trade shows, exhibitions, and events. Projection mapping and video walls. Our media servers can be used for other purposes, but that's what we primarily use them for!
Performance
These are vetted media server configurations that are capable of up to 7 channels of 4K at 60 frames second. This is from a single server with tuned specifications. Pretty sweet.
Using multiple signal distribution boxes, like an FX4 or an HA5-4K, the media servers are capable of 28 channels of 1080p at 60fps. That's a lot of channels! You would be crazy do something like that, but it is possible!
This playback benchmark test was performed using MadMapper and a single, massive HAP file.
Geekbench 6 scores can be provided upon request, but our average build has a single-core score of 2684 and a multi-core score of 15422. It runs Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, and has an OpenCL score of 123629.
The Specs
Built and tested by actual users of high-end media server software, the specifications are variable based on your needs. Cards can be added or removed, as can RAM and hard drives (we use NVMe for our internals).

- NVIDIA P4000 (with EDID management support)
- NVIDIA RTXA4000 (with EDID management support)
- NVIDIA RTXA6000 (with EDID management support)
- Blackmagic Design DeckLink Quad 2 8-Channel 3G-SDI Capture & Playback Card (1080p only)

- Intel Core i9, 16 Cores, 24 Threads
RAM is typically 64GB DDR5 but can be upgraded to 128GB upon request.

Availability and Pricing
The media servers are available for rental in New York City, but can be shipped across the lower 48 states if requested. As far as we know, we are the only company renting servers specifically for MadMapper and TouchDesigner in NYC (or possibly anywhere). We are based in Brooklyn.
Pricing starts at $600 per week, with discounts available for multiple weeks.
